The island has been recognised by the IMF as a well-regulated offshore finance centre of excellence, and its stable, low-tax environment attracts high-calibre professionals from around the world.

Its parliament, Tynwald, is more than 1,000 years old and legislates on all domestic matters. Other legislation, and in particular company and trust law, has been modelled on English law and is characterised by clear, flexible, modern regulation. The Isle of Man Government’s Financial Supervision Commission regulates the banking, investment and trust and corporate services sector.
