First Names in exploring leadership with ASL Executive Services

23 December 2016

In November, First Names Group partnered with ASL Executives Services for the first in a series of ‘Exploring Leadership’ workshops for sixth form students in Jersey.

Fifteen students from De La Salle College attended the workshop held at the ASL Leadership Development centre, an approved centre for Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) qualifications. Sponsored by First Names Group, the workshop served as a taster session to the internationally recognised ‘Level 2 Award for Young Leaders’ qualification, which local schools are interested in offering to their sixth form students.

As part of the workshop the students completed a The Apprentice style leadership challenge and were tasked with reflecting on who they think good leaders are and what their own leadership styles are like.

The ASL Leadership Development facilitators worked closely with the Jersey Leadership Forum, which has been proactive in identifying ways to develop leadership capability in the island. Four more workshops have now been planned with the other schools across the island and will be held in the New Year.

We hope that these fantastic workshops will inspire local students to become future leaders on island. If you are interested in finding out more career opportunities for school leavers and new graduates at First Names Group, please visit our Graduate Careers page.
