We are pleased to announce the appointment of Selu Mdlalose as Associate Director. Selu will be based in the Group’s Isle of Man office. His appointment is effective immediately.
An experienced financial services professional with over 14 years under his belt, Selu has worked in senior financial management and client relationship roles at Deloitte, international captive insurance company Willis Management, and Bradford & Bingley International Ltd (now part of Santander Bank plc). Prior to joining us he was Managing Director of Senate Limited, an Isle of Man based corporate and trust services provider. He is also a member of the Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW), having trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC.
In 2008 Selu joined a niche Isle of Man corporate services provider as a senior finance executive, where his performance was rewarded with a promotion to finance director in just two years. During this time he developed knowledge of offshore property structures, logistics companies and the mining sector in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Selu will build on this expertise at First Names Group, working closely with Client Service Directors Mark Lewin and Craig Brown to help build on and further develop our client base in Africa, in particular East and West Africa.
Speaking about his new appointment, Selu commented:
“First Names Group is very well-known and respected in the Isle of Man so I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to become part of it. I look forward to contributing to the continued growth of the business while upholding its reputation for exceptional, people-focused client service.”
Selu will report directly to our Managing Director for the Isle of Man, Gary Hepburn. Gary said:
“It is with great pleasure that I welcome Selu to the team. He is a highly skilled practitioner with invaluable hands-on experience behind him, and I am confident his knowledge and expertise will be a great asset to the Group – in particular as we continue to develop business in Africa. We are delighted to have him on board.”
