This time next month, Client Services Director Alastair McLaren will be participating in a panel discussion at the 2015 Private Investor: Russia & CIS conference in London.
Part of the Adam Smith Wealth Management & Private Client Series, the two-day event takes place on 13-14 October and will focus around the following question: “What does the new investment reality look like for Russian/CIS clients?” The conference attracts leading experts in wealth management from a wide range of jurisdictions, as well as private investors.
Alasdair will speak as part of a panel comparing a range of popular business and personal structures for Russian/CIS businessmen and the use of these structures within the framework of Russia’s CFC rules. His fellow panelists include Andrew Terry, Partner and Co-Head of Russia/CIS Group at Withers in London, and Valery Zaikin, Commercial Director at United Trust, UK.
Based in our Guernsey office, Alasdair has over 25 years’ experience advising international clients on fiduciary structuring. He is Chair of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Guernsey branch and a member of STEP Council, a member of the Institute of Directors, a CA, a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute and, until this year, Chair of the Technical Committee of the Guernsey Association of Trustees, where he remains on the committee.
