The first name in commercial solutions

Andrew de la Haye is Deputy Managing Director for First Names Group in Jersey.

Before being promoted to Deputy MD of the Jersey business, Andrew held the title of Client Services Director for two years. Operating at the highest level, Andrew brings a potent mix of technical knowledge and experience to solving complex challenges within the Group. He actively partners with clients to help them realise their business objectives against a constantly changing economic backdrop. Being regularly engaged with substantial commercial property transactions enables him to keep abreast of the rapidly changing fiscal parameters of successful UK property investment.

Success combines flair, hard work and a sense of purpose.

Born and schooled in Jersey, Andrew headed to Nottingham University where he graduated with a BSc honours degree in chemistry – but more importantly, met his future wife.  Returning home to the Channel Islands he joined a leading audit firm as a trainee, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant three years later.  As a director of a global bank’s trust business he gained significant experience in a broad range of structures, with a specialisation in real estate holdings and their associated financing and fiscal aspects.

Naturally competitive and driven, but very much aware of the superior performance of teams rather than individuals, Andrew relishes the responsibility of leading from the front. He particularly enjoys forming close, long-term partnerships with colleagues who complement his strengths. Andrew has had Tim Gavey working alongside him for many years and appreciates his practical business acumen and steadfast friendship. Anna Tredant is hugely capable and reliable, but most importantly is a constant source of support and inspiration to many people across the organisation.

Out of the office Andrew is always active – and that’s not just to keep up with a family of three teenagers. Sensible and proactive about his health and fitness he swims every day – sometimes with whale sharks, mostly without. A keen amateur geologist, Andrew is fascinated by the world around him - travelling far afield on his holidays to inspect it more closely.
