The first name in helping other people

Sharon Lannigan is a Manager of a Trust and Corporate team for First Names Group in the Isle of Man.

No matter how busy she is, or how focused on the task at hand, Sharon makes time for others every single day. With her excellent organisational and time management skills, she never loses momentum but continues to accomplish more, make better decisions and work efficiently. She credits her team for this as together they look after the day-to-day administration of trusts and corporates for their global clients.

Time is precious so spend it wisely.

Having been in the finance industry for over 15 years, Sharon draws on her experience to shape her team, training and mentoring them so that they respect their own value and know that limits to success are self-imposed. This belief has certainly spurred Sharon on. After five years in the leisure industry and six in the Royal Air Force, Sharon joined the financial world and started to study part time. First came a Financial Planning Certificate from the Isle of Man College followed by a Securities and Investments Institute Certificate in Investment Administration. Sharon went on to complete the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ Foundation Certificate and Diploma in International Trust Management.

Beyond skills, training and experience, a positive and enthusiastic attitude is one of the many other components that Sharon brings to her workplace. With her upbeat and cooperative manner, Sharon comes across as someone who wants to be at work and is willing to do what it takes to get the job done properly. Gifted with the ability of seeing the best in everyone, she is inspired by Sharon Dunn, who is the epitome of hard-working, and has learnt much from Irene Morrison, who is a valuable mentor. Sharon appreciates working closely with Joanne Glassey because Jo happily shares her ideas and her time.

Eat, sleep, explore – repeat! Sharon has had some wonderful life experiences, including a Venice wedding and meeting Sir Ralph Fiennes. There is however, no end to her plans. She would love to drive a fire engine, attend the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert and see the ancient pyramids in Egypt.
