Stuart Pinnington is our Group Managing Director, Corporate Services and based in our Jersey office. Prior to joining the Group in 2018, Stuart amassed a wealth of industry experience through a number of senior leadership roles, most recently as Group Holdings Director Head of Funds and Corporate for a well-respected Jersey based firm. He has previously worked in the UK, the Caribbean and the Channel Islands, both as a corporate funds lawyer and a corporate director and managing director.
Push yourself because nobody else will do it for you
Stuart started his career by training and qualifying as an English solicitor. He has a LLB Law Honours from the University of Leicester and attended the College of Law from 1998 to 1999. Although not currently practicing as a lawyer, he was admitted to the rolls of solicitors in England and Wales in 2001 and the Eastern Caribbean Court (British Virgin Islands) in 2006. In 2011, he was awarded the Institute of Directors’ Diploma in Company Direction with distinction.
IN THREE WORDS:
For Stuart, the best bit about his role is working with people across multiple jurisdictions whether that’s clients, his team or intermediaries. Easy going by nature, he also has high expectation for himself and for the people he works with. He lives by the mantra that the day you feel you are not learning something, or pushing yourself, something needs to change.
A childhood ambition to be a chef has translated into an ongoing interest in foods of all kind – in Stuart’s opinion local food made by a family is always the best. His competing interest in sport is driven partly by an effort to combat the effects of his passion for food but has led to some notable successes, including completing the Marathon des Sablons. Apart from the birth of his children, the marathon stands as one of the proudest moments of Stuart’s life. He now has ambitions to run a 100-mile ultra-marathon.
