We are delighted to announce that First Names Group has been accredited as an official STEP Training Partner as part of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ new employer training scheme.
The STEP Employer Training Scheme (ETS) is new for 2015 and is designed to help and support employers plan and deliver the best possible learning experience for everyone within their organisation.
To achieve the accreditation, First Names Group completed a detailed application process, which included details of our Learning and Development policy, an example appraisal document for a STEP student and a qualitative submission describing how we meet the required standards.
Accreditation certificates were presented last week by Rosemary Marr TEP, Chair of the STEP Professional Development Committee, at the inaugural STEP Employer Forum. The event was hosted in Jersey and saw representatives from the private wealth sector gather to discuss employee training and development.
Helen Baxter, Head of Talent Management at First Names Group, comments:
“This accreditation recognises First Names Group as an organisation which takes training seriously. Indeed, Learning and Development is a key item on our agenda, because finding, developing and retaining talented ‘First Names’ is absolutely critical to the success of our business and our people-focused culture.
“While this title currently applies only to our Jersey office, our innate focus on professional development extends Group-wide. We hope to ultimately achieve accreditation across all of our jurisdictions; Isle of Man and Guernsey are next on our list. Our aim is also to be able to upgrade our Training Partner status to Platinum level into 2016, as we develop a mentoring scheme for our STEP students.”
Also in attendance was Client Services Director, Lorraine Wheeler, who is also Chair of STEP’s Jersey branch. Lorraine adds:
“As Chair of STEP Jersey, I am thrilled that First Names Group has been one of the first companies to achieve this new accreditation. The ETS will help our Group provide the best possible quality of Learning and Development for our people, enhancing our capabilities and increasing employee engagement in the process.”
