Lorraine Wheeler is Client Services Director for First Names Group in Jersey.
Lorraine is very much aware that being in the right place at the right time can be the difference between a career that is mundane or one that is magnificent. Counting herself lucky to be given early opportunities, she grabbed them with both hands. Spells in Bermuda and Geneva gave her excellent insight into diverse jurisdictions prior to settling down in Jersey over 10 years ago. Since joining the Group in 2013, Lorraine manages a client team and her own portfolio of clients.
Clients appreciate us so much more when we are truly engaged.
Lorraine holds a BSc Hons degree in Financial Services from the University of Manchester. She also has a Trustee Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Bankers. An active member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Lorraine has served on its committees in Jersey, Bermuda and Switzerland as well as the STEP Council. She was Chair of STEP Jersey for 2014-16 and in 2015 she was awarded the prestigious STEP Founder's Award for Outstanding Achievement. She is currently Vice President of the Jersey Association of Trust Companies (JATCo).
Lorraine's warm smile and cheerful disposition make even the toughest task manageable. She finds enormous motivation in helping others achieve their goals. A communicator par excellence she is studying hard to add Mandarin to her already impressive skill set – which includes understanding the offside rule in football!
IN THREE WORDS:
Working with different people is fundamental to Lorraine’s role. She truly believes that the greatest happiness in the world is to make others happy, and this attitude shines through. She particularly enjoys working with Ben Newman and Jen le Chevalier - both are extremely dedicated professionals who, despite their busy schedules, always find time for others.
FIRST CONCERT: BON JOVI IN 1989
Lorraine loves relaxing with her family on weekends; completing complex jigsaws or reading murder mysteries. One of many memorable moments on her travels is standing at Cape Horn admiring the view where the stormy Atlantic meets the vast Pacific Ocean. She keeps fit by swimming or taking her dog Lola for walks. The travel bug has not left her completely as she plans to visit China to put her Mandarin to the test.
