Mark Pesco is Chief Executive Officer for First Names Group.
Mark heads up the Group’s Management Committee, overseeing the day-to-day management and leadership of the business. With a career full of highlights, he demonstrates just how far you can travel with the right combination of passion, drive, ambition, business acumen – and personality. His sense of humour takes the edge off tense situations, bringing a measure of perspective and, invariably, a solution. He is undeniably fun to work with and very easy to respect.
Success comes from knowledge and experience applied with passion, drive and a sense of humour.
Mark’s journey began with PwC in Jersey where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant before moving on to gain international experience in Singapore, Melbourne and London. He returned to Jersey in 2004 to join the Langtry Trust Group and was appointed to Partner within 12 months. In 2005, Mark led the sale of Langtry to IFG International and in 2008 he was appointed Managing Director for Jersey. Since IFG International became First Names Group in 2012-13, Mark has continued to enjoy quick progression through the ranks. Before being appointed as CEO he held the title of Group Managing Director, Private Client.
The quality of Mark’s leadership has been well recognised: in 2014 he won IoD Jersey ‘Director of the Year for a Large Organisation’ and was also a finalist for the IoD UK Director of the Year award. In addition, he was named in eprivateclient’s prestigious ‘50 Most Influential’ for 2016 and has featured in the Citywealth ‘Leaders List’ four years running.
IN THREE WORDS:
Ambitious with a get-up-and-get-on attitude, he is hugely optimistic about the Group's future and relishes the challenge of growing it locally and internationally. His unwavering desire is to provide a dynamic environment in which people can learn and develop with energy and enthusiasm.
Already a musician and a pretty good rugby player in his time, Mark still feels he hasn't got enough under his belt - so he's taken up Kenpo Karate and meditation as well. He's also partial to the odd bungee jump and has been white water rafting in Indonesia and France. At home, Mark is devoted to his two daughters and his wife (who is always the first person he calls with good news).
